Woody Point is a small coastal community on Bonne Bay in western Newfoundland, surrounded by the landscapes of Gros Morne National Park. Its waterfront is lined with historic homes and buildings, while the Woody Point Lighthouse marks the shoreline and the town’s heritage district preserves five registered structures. The community is also home to the Gros Morne Discovery Centre, where exhibits explain the region’s geology, wildlife, plants, and human history. Woody Point has developed a strong cultural identity through music, storytelling, and literature, particularly through events held at the historic Heritage Theatre. The nearby Tablelands provide a distinctive geological landscape of exposed mantle rock and contrasting green hills.
